Sweet Black Terminal Theme for OSX Leopard

The usability black terminal theme that comes with OSX Leopard is definitely lagging. Tom Werth has created a kick ass custom theme that I actually like. It uses Monaco for the font which I have become accustomed to looking at from my long coding sessions in Textmate.

If anyone knows of other Terminal themes for Leopard feel free to leave a link to them in the comments. I like Tom Werth’s black theme but I’m still looking for other colors/styles.

I’ve been using the theme for a while now and I’ve found that most other colors work well with this theme’s settings. I’ve copied duplicated the theme a couple times in my settings and just altered the color and come up with several nice alternate colors.

You should install Visor from Blacktree while you’re at it to get your console :D

    MacOS X – Terminal.app Themes

With the release of 10.5 (Leopard) Terminal.app became as customizable as most people like. These are tried and true themes for a range of uses, from a quick wget-dedicated terminal, to a full-blown emacs/vi session over SSH. Typefaces used are Andale Mono, Monaco and DejaVu Sans Mono.

A nice companion to this would be Mike Solomon’s TerminalColors and possibly Ciarán Walsh’s Blurminal. Enjoy.

I made a kind of DSL in Ruby to generate valid strings that represent colored text in the terminal: http://github.com/rafmagana/geek_painter
